My adult life in a few non-orthodox communities, it seems the average age of regular service goers is 50’s plus. At the Reform temple in my home city, it was mostly retirees.
There’s a few who are 20s and early 30s. And of the people who I see all the time at Jewish young professionals events, only a handful make it to services regularly.
Questions are: * Has this always been the case for Conservative and Reform communities to skew older? Or, is this due to demographic shifts? * Is this true in some Orthodox communities?
