Shabbat with non Jewish partner.

I come from a non-practicing Jewish family and, at 40, I’m starting to identify more with Judaism. I want to start participating in rituals that speak to me, including shabbat.

My parter is not Jewish, in fact he was raise very catholic and now has a distain for organised religion. He’s happy for me to do whatever I like but has no interest in participating.

Can anyone provide me suggestions about how i might start to practice shabbat while living with someone who won’t?
