Hello!
My grandfather (92) has led our seder for my entire life, but this year he has asked me to share the responsibility in our family by delivering a bit of a sermon, which he usually does at the start of the seder.
Of my generation I am certainly the most observant (the only one to receive bar mitzvah, though the ceremony was extremely informal and I never had to learn any Hebrew for it, it was during Taglit), but this is the most meaningful holiday to me and I want to honor that and do a good job.
I am reaching out to ask r/Judaism, what makes you proud to be a modern Jew? What does being Jewish mean to you? How do you hope to see Judaism evolve during your lifetime?
Big questions, haha. I’d appreciate any input!
