I’m having an argument with someone in a Reddit thread who is insisting that religious text other than Sifrei Torah do not need to be treated specially.
Can someone confirm my position that siddurim, chumashim, copies of the Talmud, etc. are treated specially under Jewish law? Specifically that they are not to be stored upside down or under secular books, are not to be taken in the bathroom, and are not to be thrown out or burned (as opposed to burial or storage).
