Rudeness – Is it my imagination?

I’m guessing even asking this will upset people but I’m not sure where else to ask…but… are Orthodox Jews socialized to not be kind or helpful or even to acknowledge anyone outside of their slice of this religion? It is anecdotal however for years I have had interactions with Orthodox Jews who ignore me, act without courtesy, shove their way past people on airplanes, don’t yield to others walking on sidewalks, etc. It’s almost like they are treating the rest of us like we are invisible. Are these just an unlucky series of rude individuals or is this more consistent within the community and if the latter, why?

Thanks in advance
