Hi,
We had some non religious/Jewish family come in from town to visit. They brought with them a gift for my daughters birthday on Shabbat.
I didn’t want to accept it until after Shabbat but for the life of me I didn’t know why I couldn’t. It was just a gut instinct. I asked my Rabbi at mincha and I got an answer that I was not satisfied with ” Because the Rebbe didn’t accept gifts on Shabbat “. Then he proceded to tell me a story about how the Rebbe was offered a gold ring on Shabbat and he refused to take it.
Can anyone help guide me on this one ?
Thank you and Shavua Tov
