Random question because my brain is weird… Could you use your tefillin as a weapon in self defence?

This just popped into my head last night. I don’t know why. Seems like it would be good as a flail or even just restraining someone.

Follow up question: If you killed someone with them, would it still be permitted to use them? Can they even be mekabel tumah?
