A discussion my wife and I recently had: In a large industrialized factory, those cheap oversalted packs of ramen noodles are fully cooked (steamed) and then fried to crispiness, all well within 18 minutes. Assuming we are not following strict Hasidic traditions against gebrochts and that the ingredient list is otherwise kosher, would it be acceptable to eat cheap ramen noodles during Pesach? If not, how would this differ in spirit from matzo ball soup? (Link below for how one particular brand is made; maybe a bad example since they’re talking about shrimp noodles.)
