Question relating to Emunah and Hashem

So I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on emunah and how I should strengthen it. One idea I keep hearing is that Hashem runs literally every part of the world. While I do 100 percent believe that Hashem is running everything, I run into a serious question. Since Hashem is running everything, what’s the point in doing anything? What’s the point of self-improving or standing up for yourself, if it’s not you who is having any effect but it’s Hashem? Why work? Why argue for anything, if it’s not really going to matter if I do any of that? I’m having a lot of trouble reconciling this. Any advice is welcome.
