Question about the Chabad Lubavitch from a Non Jew

Hello Everyone! Sorry if this is a strange question.

I live in an area with a large Jewish population and the Chabad Lubovitch are quite active in doing outreach. I myself am not Jewish. I’m a practicing Muslim but my mother’s family are catholic and dad’s family are Jewish. However the vast majority are not practicing and as a child I really only loosely celebrated Passover and Hanukah, along with Christmas and Easter. I’ve never seen my father attend a synagogue apart from the occasional Bar or Bat Mitzvah.

However recently, members in Chabad Lubavitch have been approaching me on the street asking if I am Jewish. I wear a hijab and I am pretty noticeably Muslim so it comes across as odd. Is there any reason they would think I am Jewish?
