Non-Jew here with a question about Jewish Christians. I know Messianics are considered to be evangelicals cosplaying as observant Jews, but what about someone who is halachically Jewish who chooses to believe in Christianity? Are they no longer considered Jewish? And does this apply to other religions as well?
EDIT: The reason I ask this question is because I was raised in a fundamentalist evangelical church (I’m not affiliated with this in any way now) and I always thought it had a weird relationship to Judaism and Israel. There were some “Jewish Christians” in the congregation and I always wondered what other Jews thought of them.
