Question about Golems from someone who is not Jewish.

Hello! From what I understand the Golem originated out of Judaism. It was a entity made to protect. Lately I’ve been seeing people say that current day depictions of Golems and any non-Jewish people using the word Golem is antisemitic. To me it seems a bit strange to call it antisemitic to me it seems like it would just be cultural appropriation. Obviously as someone who is not religiously or culturally Jewish I don’t have the full picture. So I was wondering if yall would help me. Is the way that the media and people in general use Golems antisemitic? Do Jewish people even care about this? I’ve just seen a ton from non Jewish people about this and non from the people it actually concerns.
