I’ll be finishing the Prophets in about two months. Right now, I’m in the book of Hosea, and my favorite of the “later prophets” (so far) is Jeremiah.
All the time, I hear that “prophecy ended a long time ago,” but this is difficult for me to accept. How do we explain the wisdom of men and women (over the last many centuries) whose major predictions came true? Can no one receive messages from God anymore?
I understand that “modern prophecies” open the door to phony religions and weird practices with no one to verify their authenticity. But something about the “Prophecy ended in Year X” argument doesn’t sit well with me.
What do you think?
