There seems to be lots of invalidation of patri jews in online spaces (I don’t practice much), but at my grandmother’s burial, my uncles insisted I pray the kaddish w them… conservative rabbi hesitated then welcomed me in— he’s a lovely rabbi and knows my background. I’m just wondering why this wasn’t a bigger deal, since prayers in community seem to be one of the places patrilineal descent is trickiest? Would value conservative insights; thank you so much.
