Non-Jewish actors playing Jewish roles, thoughts?

Title asks it all. Over the years this has been something that is becoming increasingly more prevalent on screen and something that continues to really irk me. There’s no shortage of Jewish actors (actors meaning here as performers of any gender) working today, and so casting directors not being able to “find” a Jewish actor is a direct choice.

There’s so many roles where they have cast non-Jews or actors who are “sorta Jewish” because they’re from New York or have Jewish grandparents/one parent who is Jewish while the actor themself wasn’t raised Jewish at all.

Plus, by casting actual Jews, Hollywood could help alleviate some antisemitism, since people look to Hollywood to see who they are supposed to love.

Anyway, thoughts?
