My dad is engaged to a non-Jewish woman. He’s not observant at all but I keep Shabbat, kosher, daven. I’ve been trying to influence him slowly over the several years they’ve been dating to be a little more observant, like making kiddush on Shabbat, and I thought it was working but I guess not. I know he will drop what little observance he still has if the marriage happens.
He hasn’t even told me he’s engaged to her because I think he knew I would be mad, but I found out over Thanksgiving indirectly.
Does anyone have any experience breaking up a wedding between one of their parents and their significant other? I know Shabbat is starting soon in the East coast…
