I posted the other day about concealed carry and whether I should ask my Rabbi. I explained the situation that had happened to me after leaving the shul the other day as well as my general thoughts on the state of the world and anti semitism. He ended up saying yes but he wants total discretion, and he wants me to work with his security team. He also wants me to take extra classes (sponsored by people his security team knows) in order to be proficient to his standard. I don’t know what to say other than I’m very grateful. His requests are all responsible and reasonable.
I would’ve accepted him saying no without any animosity btw. It’s his shul and his word is law in my eyes, but knowing I can defend myself and my fellow members puts my mind at ease.
