Minimum size for kiddush cup: One Jew, two opinions!

Friday night kiddush is a mitzvah d’oraisa (a Torah obligation, not a rabbinic decree). The minimum size is a revi’is, but how big is a revi’is?

That is a matter of some dispute.

According to the Orthodox Union (aka “the OU” aka Ⓤ):

4 fl. oz. (119 ml) for d’oraita cases such as Shabbat (or first-day Jewish festival) evening kiddush

But the Orthodox Union (aka “the OU” aka Ⓤ):

When we are dealing with a Torah obligation, such as Kiddush Friday night, we should use the larger measurement of the Noda B’Yehuda (which is based on a revi’is equaling approximately 5 oz).
