Howdy, I’m working on carving a Mezuzah case as a gift, and was wondering if it should be sealed? Not going so far as airtight, but rather unexposed to the elements. Most cases that I’ve seen are more or less completely closed containers, but I’ve seen a handful that have gaps with the scroll exposed to the outside environment. Is this okay? Are the scrolls durable enough to be exposed? Or is it best for outdoor cases to be sealed? Many thanks.
