Love hate relationship with purim

I used to really enjoy Purim but I think this year was way too hard on me, Little bit of background, I’m a 22 y/o learning in Jerusalem, so like a lot of bucherim studying here I went with a couple of friends to the outskirts of Jerusalem (where they keep the first day Purim) on the first night, planning to eat a meal and maybe drink a little bit, long story short one guy ended up drunk as hell and was sent to the hospital, my first night was spent looking after him cleaning up etc… Lucky for me a friend offered to go along to the hospital so I didn’t have to. Second night was similar so I went for a walk to kikar Zion which ended up being my only enjoyable part of Purim, people were dancing in the street, loud music but I couldn’t spot even one drunk. Second day I finished reading the megileh, ate a little bit, danced and then basically spent my whole day looking after my drunk friends, cleaning vomit, wrestling them when they picked fights with random people, and of course paid for taxis to get them all home (missing two highly anticipated parties). I can’t blame people for drinking since for a lot of people this is what Purim is all about, but the way I see it behind every drunk there is a person (usually the wife) ruining their Purim to keep them safe, I don’t know if there is a way to avoid that, but it seems really unfair.
