Looking for a shul to become a member of with my husband. We both grew up at orthodox shuls, but have “fallen off the derech.”
The appeal in a reform or conservative shul for me is being able to sit next to my husband and not having to worry about the often sparse women’s section. However, having looked at some conservative and reform shuls in the neighborhood, it doesn’t jive with us. To be honest, we both can’t get behind the guitar playing and kumbayas that seem popular at these shuls. We are both strongly Zionist and conservative, so we would also like a community with similar values.
Does anyone have a suggestion of a conservative shul with an active 20s/30s community that is more traditional?
