I went to a Purim themed Torah study group last night & someone mentioned Lilith when we discussing Vashti and Esther, got me thinking
Could the story of Lilith be seen as an allegorical reference to the removal/replacement of older religions which often were more matriarchal
Similar to the story of St Patrick and the Snakes in Ireland. He banished them, but it was serpents, the symbol for Druids, not snakes.
