Until recently I considered myself a Christian, but now I’m an atheist and don’t see that changing anytime soon. One of the main reasons (and there are many) for leaving Christianity is the “Old Testament” as called in Christian circles. From the harsh laws and rules and the death penalty that was thrown left and right, to G-d’s call for destruction and killing women and children. I know the “excuses” and “answers” usually given from the Christian perspective, but I’m curious to know what is the Jewish perspective on this issue?
Judaism and violence in the Bible.
