Judaism – A race?

Hi.

Just for disclosure, I’m happy with people being whom they want to be and identify with whatever they want. I don’t really believe in races for humanity either, but I guess that is the term we use. This is only for my own curiosity.

I have the impressions that jews consider themselves as a race, regardless if they are religious or not. My impression is that Judaism is only a religion, such as Islam or Christianity. Can anyone explain if this impression is correct, and why?
