My boyfriend is a Mexican-American Jew with a somewhat generic Hispanic name. He doesn’t wear a kippa or other easily identifiable Jewish symbols and doesn’t look stereotypically Jewish. He also doesn’t really talk about his Jewishness much, so only people he’s close with know.
He told me that there have been numerous times where people made antisemitic comments in his presence, not knowing he was Jewish.
Do Jews of Color or others who don’t present as Jewish often hear antisemitic comments from people who don’t know they are Jewish?
