Ayy so I got a weird question. Feel free to rebuke me if it’s overwhelmingly dumb lol. I’m a Jew but was raised only culturally Jewish (loosely, at that) and Christian (also loosely, lol). While I strongly identify as a Jew, I live in a small rustbelt town with little/no Jewish population and I don’t really have a lot of casual contact with other Jews save family reunions. Consequently, I still have a lot to learn, which is why I bring this question here.
Genetically, I am only 1/4 Ashkenazi through my babushka (maternal), but the girl I have been seeing is a whole ass Ashkenazi Jew who was adopted by a Christian family. If we were to consider having children in the future, should we get the AJGP screening? I’ve only loosely heard of it through my cousins. What does it look like? How does it work?
