My Fiancé and I are trying to plan our wedding and we are trying to understand some of the traditions and laws of a Jewish wedding. We identify as conservative Jews. We want to get married on a Saturday after sunset. Is it okay to do this? Having a Sunday wedding or any other day of the week seems like it will make it difficult for our guests. Also, do conservative Jews typically follow the tradition of separation of the bride and groom before the marriage? If we want to have dinner for our close friends and family that are travelling from out of town the night before the wedding does one of us just not attend?
