Jewish view on cosmology

I read that ancient Israelite cosmology involved a flat earth but I read in Isaiah 40:22 the word ḥūḡ or ח֝֗וּג is translated into english as circle. Forgive me as I don’t know any Hebrew. But I read that theres no word for sphere so maybe this was used instead?

Basically is it true Judaism in general suggested a flat earth? Or is there more or less a misunderstanding between languages? Thank you!
