Jewish History reading recs?

Over the past year or two, I’ve been absolutely enamored by Judaism to put it lightly. Through social media, I’ve been able to see Jewish life through so many different viewpoints and sects. I’ve begun reading books and articles to familiarize myself with the religion. For the last few months, I’ve begun to feel ready to take the next step of contacting my local Rabbi. However, an issue I have is the history of Judaism. Most of my reading has been about current events and people. I was wondering if anyone has any book or article recommendations on the history of the Jewish people. Everything from the Exodus from Egypt to the Jewish people’s strong connection to Israel. I am a complete beginner and want to delve into these topics from a surface level. I would really appreciate any recommendations!
