Is Weed Kosher?

Hello all! I wanted to know everybody’s opinions on a topic I believe will be quite interesting to discuss if we can all remain civil.

With cannabis being legalized left and right a big debate has risen over whether or not it is kosher. I would like to hear everyone’s opinions.

I should note that weed, in a narrow sense of the word “kosher,” is kosher since it’s a plant. What I mean is whether it’s usage for the sake of getting intoxicated is permissable by Jewish law, and whether Jews should behave in such a way.

I personally believe it is 100% kosher and support marijuana usage, but I would love to hear some opinions! Please everyone be civil and courteous. Baruch Hashem.
