Is this a misconception?

I come from a secular mixed race (Jewish and Black) family and I’ve decided to re-embrace Judaism and read Jewish texts.

There is a part of the Talmud that speaks of 6 ‘genders’. My interpretation is that these aren’t genders, they are just anomalies and are discussed in terms of how they are seen in regards to the two genders and whether they are treated as male or female.

I wanted to ask people who are more educated on the Talmud what they think about it. I found it kind of confusing at first because the Torah teaches that G-d made two genders, and the 6 ‘gender’ idea seemed somewhat contradictory.

I don’t mean to offend anyone with this post, I’m just curious. I don’t really have any to talk to about Jewish texts, so I thought I’d ask Reddit.
