Is there any certain reason behind why so many of the best chess players are Jewish?

I make this post because of genuine curiosity, and without being Jewish or a chess player myself. I just noticed that almost a third of the most successful chess players of all time are/were Jewish. So I’m wondering if there is a certain reason; a long and close history of chess in Jewish communities?
