Is there a reason for a Jewish person to read the Christian Bible?

I’ve recently started reading self-improvement and self-help books. I’m not understanding huge chunks of these books because they reference Bible verses that I’ve never come to understand. I don’t understand how they’re written, I don’t know the context, and I don’t know what they can be interpreted to mean.

I’ve never read the Bible because I’m Jewish and felt no need to. But is there a valid reason to?
