Is the Tanakh written in a specific metre?

I am a goy, who is very interested in poetical metrics, but as a Christian, I am also very interested in the Bible.

I know the “verse” numbers in the Bible are basically an arbitrary numbering system for easy lookup in differently translated Bibles, and that they don’t denote a verse according to metrics.

But was the Tanakh written according to one or multiple metres, as the word is used in poetry?
