Is each year of the Hebrew Calendar ‘related’ to a verse in the Torah ?

Hi everyone, I wanted to know if it’s true that each year in the Hebrew Calendar is ‘connected’ (don’t know if that’s the correct term) to a verse in the Torah. For example, Genesis 1 would be year one. If that’s the case, is there a particular name for ‘connecting’ the verses to years in the calendar ?

And at what verse are we right now ?
