In Genesis 1:1, is the placement of et (אֵת) as the 4th word of 7 significant?

Some times, I hear something said about the bible and it’s translations from Hebrew. Then I wonder how widely held that interpretation is, or if this is just some academic person deviating from the common understanding. I was wondering if this community could weigh-in on something I heard from a biblical scholar.

I had heard somewhere that the first verse of Genesis 1 was unique in a particular way. Here is the gist of what I heard. Keep in mind, I do not speak or read Hebrew:

• Gen 1:1 is seven words in Hebrew
• 7 being a number that represents completion (or perfection)
• the fourth position in that series of 7 being significant (much like the center lamp on a 7 lamp Menorah)
• The fourth word (et) of Gen 1:1 in Hebrew is significant in placement
• the word et (or אֵת ) is representing God’s position as the beginning and end (as mentioned in Isaiah) because this is the first and last letter of the Hebrew alphabet

Gen 1:1 בְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית בָּרָ֣א אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֵ֥ת הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְאֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃

So my question is this. Is the significance of this word’s placement a commonly-held thing, or is this from people who look for too much significance in every thing?
