Immigration

Hey guys, I know this is a bit of a touchy one, however I do think it’s a productive conversation to be had. Generally, what would the Jewish community here say about immigration generally? From a halachic and Jewish philosophical perspective. Generally, in my experience, the Jewish community (in America where I live), tends to be pro immigrant broadly, but anti open borders, (I myself consider myself politically conservative but a moderate on the issue), could I get some communal perspectives from a Jewish POV and the reasoning behind it?
