I’m wanting to convert to Reform Judaism

I am someone who comes from a somewhat secular Christian household but never felt happy or believed in the teachings I was taught. After years of soul searching and several family tragedies, I decided to dedicate myself to Judaism. I don’t know why, it just seemed to fit me.

I got in contact with a local rabbi and we set up a meeting but the day before when I sent him a message to confirm our meeting, he never replied. I know some rabbis will turn away a prospective convert and have them prove their dedication for conversion but I don’t know how to approach it without being too pushy.

Any suggestions???
