I’m not frum enough for the woman I want to date— any advice?

I’m a man in my early 20’s and on the Baal teshuva path. I keep Shabbat and kosher, I’m part of the community etc but been going for under a year. I learn when I can, but not as much or as quickly as I’d like to.

I’ve been friends with a younger woman in my community (I think she’s 20) who I’ve developed strong feelings for, but she’s frum from birth and Orthodox. We go to the same shul (small Jewish community with a diverse practice style) and I’d eventually like to be fully Orthodox, but I was raised secular and trying to pace myself so that the changes are sustainable. I’m not frum enough for her and it breaks my heart, knowing if maybe we met a few years down the line we’d be a good match but I don’t blame her for wanting someone like her. Any advice to move on? We’re still friends so it’s hard. The community is too small to be friends with others.
