All jobs at the public library in my city have a schedule where you work one Saturday a month. I really want to work at the public library and they have some openings that I’m qualified for right now, but obviously the one Saturday a month is a problem (also working until 5:30 on Friday in Winter)
Should I still apply and ask for a religious accommodation? I don’t really know how discrimination laws work, but I assume since working Saturdays is a requirement that they are upfront about, they don’t have to accommodate it? Would it be a waste of everyone’s time if I apply?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, the only other “real” job I’ve ever had was for a Jewish organization so it wasn’t a problem.
