I’m Reform, been involved with my community for over three years, but just converted about six months ago. Never been involved with any other community. I feel like my rabbi and my community expect me to stay with them long term, but I’m moving in about a month.
How should I bring this up? I feel like my rabbi might be disappointed. I also feel like he may need to contact the synagogue I’d like to check out in the city I’m moving to and vouch for me, what with all the rising antisemitism. I know this is short notice, but I wanted to be sure I’d actually be able to move before I told anyone anything.
Should I ask for a meeting with him? Write up a letter?
