The shofar blowing in my community over the last few high holidays has not been great. I want to learn, and I want to learn to do it well. Any advice?
I’m pretty musically-inclined, but I’ve never played any sort of horn or wind instrument. Thinking about taking up the trumpet just to get some professional guidance on embouchure and breath work. Is that crazy? Otherwise I understand it has a lot to do with the size and type of shofar (bigger is better, kudus are cool) and of course practice.
