How to “Lachzor Betshuva”?

I come from a very non religious family, reside in Israel and wanted to try and return to the faith but I don’t even know where to start.. I studied a lot of Jewish history and obviously I know I can start setting Tefilin and wear ziziot but I wanted to ask for a proper way.
