I’m a product of intermarriage who has in turn intermarried. My husband did not convert but is committed to raising our children in a Jewish home and is actually beginning conversion of his own accord soon. His parents are the exact opposite of supportive. They are both “atheists” and his mother was raised Mormon so I think she has trauma around religion to begin with. On top of their lack of support for ANY religion, they are (oddly) tied to Christmas in a way that they interperet our lack of a christmas tree as a personal attack on them. I’m now 8 months pregnant so this has reached an all new level of relevance. Has anyone been in a similar situation and helped these types of people to become more tolerant?
How to handle unsupportive in-laws?
