My mom is Japanese and my dad is Jewish. My boyfriend would say, I look like an Japanese girl getting ready to go to have a bat-mitzvah. The one thing that makes me look Jewish is my thick curly hair. My middle eastern studies teacher who’s had me as a student knows I’m half Jewish since we’ve had class discussions on identity, religion and culture in her class. She’s made me feel included, when she asked the class if anybody had middle eastern history and eyeing me since I was Jewish. Aside from that I’m done a birthright Israel trip, and celebrated Passover over zoom with my family but I’m wondering what else I can do to get in touch with my Jewish side (books would be good too) and perhaps meeting some half Asian and half Jewish people?
How to get more in touch with my Jewish side and find some Asian/half Jewish mixes?
