My father is Ashkenazi but not observant in the slightest, and my mother is not Jewish. I’ve been raised in a largely secular way; in my family, we have a very secular celebration of Chanukah, Passover, and Rosh Hashanah every year, but that’s about it. I avoid pork, but I won’t refuse it. I didn’t have a full-blown Bar Mitzvah, but in lieu of one I took a trip to Israel shortly after my 13th birthday.
Recently I’ve been finding that I want to get more in touch with my faith, specifically Judaism. What are some ways that I can do this while still maintaining a mostly secular lifestyle?
Thanks in advance for responses.
