The Rabbi that would be mentoring me is Orthodox, but I know that certain Orthodox communities may have issues with rabbis they deem too lax. I don’t think this rabbi is too lax and I have been assured that he is not MO, but also realize that Orthodoxy is a spectrum and people may have differing views. I want to make sure I don’t have a hard time later with certain communities not accepting me as a Jew. Should I just call up Rabbis in those communities and ask? Plus how should I properly phrase the question?
