How do we deal with stove top safety when keeping shabbat?

Interested in keeping shabbat, but kind of struggling with the safety aspects of keeping food warm during shabbos. Obviously i can’t turn on/off the stove or oven, so lets say i have cholent in a pot on the stove i’d just have to leave the electric burner on for all of shabbat, but is that safe? People keep telling me its not safe.

My electric oven/stove doesnt have shabbat mode or timers btw

Edit: so looks like i’m gonna get a slow cooker, thx for the advice. Now accepting slow cooker advice 🙂
