Hi Jewish brothers and sisters! Muslim here. I am doing a research and I would like you to answer a question.

So basically I wanted to hear other people’s opinion, especially Christians or Jews, regarding whether “Allah” is commonly considered to be:

1. The literal translation for “God” in the Arabic language

or

1. A proper noun

I’m asking this because I often see people in arguments confusing these two interpretations, which aren’t wrong, but often misunderstood.
