Halacha for children born out of wedlock

Unlike the English term “bastard,” a “mamzer” in Hebrew doesn’t mean “born out of wedlock.” In order to be a mamzer, one has to be born from incest, an affair, or someone who just didn’t get a proper divorce. With that said, if a child is born out of wedlock to two people who were in a monogamous relationship, are there any halachic ramifications for that child? Is it correct that there are no halachic ramifications but that some communities may just look down upon it (e.g., they may avoid a shidduch with such an individual)?
